ACTIONS

Inspiring Wonder and Curiosity

It is easier to move towards change if we know we are not in it alone. Talking with others and sharing stories of our experiences helps us to express our feelings, supporting our willingness to change a habit that will cultivate climate resilience. We offer these tools for you to download and share with others. We hope they will spark conversations to support your own growth in developing climate care.

Talking to each other about climate change is something we can do every day.

Spark a conversation with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. One Day / One Action social media prompts open the doorway for conversations about our changing climate. They offer questions and guideposts to support emotional awareness. They present ideas for changing habits. And they share stories from the San José Community, all translated into Vietnamese and Spanish.

Content for One Day / One Action is organized with color and themes. You will see the colors change from green to dark blue and purple to represent the seasonal shifts of our natural world. Here you can find our full social media toolkits of prompts all translated into Vietnamese and Spanish.

Climate Café

Create a Community of Care

What do you love about being alive on Earth? How do you grieve for Earth?

To nurture community relationships and engage deeper conversations about climate change, we have adapted a process known as a Climate Café. Hosting a Climate Café can create a safe container for your community to share emotions and stories around the climate crisis and support first steps towards community action, change, and resilience.

If we can instill a sense of understanding about how our world is changing by being in conversation with each other, we can create more impactful connections. We need to work together to feel connected around climate change as opposed to feeling lonely and hopeless.

Share Climate Stories

Uplift Youth Voices

Storytelling is at the heart of all social change work. We worked with college students and their professors from San José City College and San José State University, engaging students in a writing process to help them tell their stories about climate change. These in-person conversations and workshops made space for students to share their fears, ask questions, and tell stories from their families and communities. We offer this toolkit for educators, community groups, friends, and families to create a guide for sharing your own stories.
